Vulpine Great Danes

Raising and Breeding Quality AKC Great Danes

Welcome to Vulpine Great Danes!  We derived our name out of our last name of Fuchs.  In German, Fuchs means Fox.  In English, Vulpine means "Like a Fox" or "Foxy".  We wanted a German sound to our kennel name, as our ancestry is mostly German and this great breed originated in Germany.

Our mission statement (if you want to call it that) is to find the right mix of European and American lines to breed an elegant Great Dane, but one that retains the great bone and stature from European lines.  Along with the right amount of lip (not too much, not too little) and a big beautiful head.  I think the boys should look like boys and the girls should retain their femininity.  I also would like to breed a nice natural ear set, so we can get away from having to crop all show dogs, due to (as I affectionately call them) "hound dog ears".  My husband and I are looking forward to making a valuable contribution to the Great Dane breed. It is more than a hobby to us.  We live and breathe our dogs, so I guess you could say it is our PASSION

We are located in Hutchinson, Kansas.  We love our Great Danes and they are our family.  We raise quality AKC Great Danes- specializing in Harlequins and the colors that come with breeding Harlequins.  Great Danes make wonderful family pets.  They are very affectionate and intelligent.  They prefer to be lapdogs and need less exercise than you would think.  Our Danes live in our home and are raised to be inside dogs.  They are socialized with small dogs and children.  We are looking forward to getting some of our dogs into the show ring, but first and foremost we believe that they should have the correct temperment and personality, above conformation and show ability.  If you are interested in owning one of our Great Danes feel free to contact us at vulpinegreatdanes@yahoo.com or at 620-694-7390 ask for Talena!  We look forward to hearing from you.
